warning signs that you might be heading toward burnout
Symptoms of Burnout
You're worn out.
Can't you move a muscle because you're so exhausted? Do you struggle to get out of bed in the morning to go to work? Do you feel like you worked 80 hours in 8? Workplace burnout is a type of stress that has three distinct characteristics. The first is the sensation of being emotionally and physically worn out.
You're becoming pessimistic
Cynicism, or a negative or even callous loss of interest in one's profession, is the second characteristic of burnout. The cause is frequently exhaustion.
You feel hopeless.
The third pillar of burnout is incompetence, or the belief that you are unable to perform effectively. It causes a decrease in productivity and accomplishment. That sensation can occasionally be attributed to the other two tentpoles of burnout: weariness and cynicism. Sometimes you experience all three of them at once.
You Feel Down
Depression might develop if you're worn out, pessimistic, and feeling useless.
Your mind wonders
Burnout, according to research, is primarily a workplace issue, whereas depression can affect your career and affect your entire life. But they are related. According to studies, people who are prone to depression are more likely to experience burnout.
You detest your work.
According to studies, burnout has a number of negative side effects, including job unhappiness, absenteeism, and a host of physical issues.
Yet Another Pain?
Frequent headaches were listed as a physical sign of burnout by Herbert Freudenberger, a psychologist who developed the term in 1974. This hasn't been proven scientifically, just like sleep issues.
